WHO’S IT FOR?
If you’re a business owner that has been working for a few years and have hit a ceiling, Positioned to Profit is for you. Ideally attendees of this course have participated in some type of business development program or training before.
Please note: Positioned to Profit is different from the 100Knoxville Grant Cohort. Positioned to Profit is highly regarded recommendation for folks that are interested in participating in the 100Knoxville Grant Cohort.
DETAILS
Positioned to Profit lasts five weeks, meeting one evening a week for three hours. Facilitators include educators and active entrepreneurs, and guest speakers include specialists and professionals from leading marketing, branding, legal and finance firms and agencies, as well as local entrepreneurs.
PRICING
The course fee is $125 dollars and includes materials and dinner. Full payment is required at the start of your first session. This fee is non-refundable. Scholarships are available if needed.
KEC will send out an invoice through PayPal or Stripe to receive your payment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is an action-driven, collaborative process with a small and supportive group of like-minded entrepreneurs, led by a facilitator who’ll introduce concepts and help you immediately put them to work. We’ll discuss concepts, problems and solutions during class; you’ll apply them to your project or business during the week; and we’ll review and fine-tune together. You’ll leave the program with a better understanding of how to scale your business systematically and efficiently.

POSITIONED TO PROFIT | CURRICULUM
Week 1: The 30,000 Foot View
In this session, students will take a step back from working “in” their business to working “on” their business. They will be taking a full assessment of what they have built, how they have built it, and if it is still working how they envisioned. Discussions and activities will include revisiting the business model canvas, their mission, vision, values, and 3 year business goal.
Week 2: Bringing Everything Into Focus
In this session, students will be challenged to understand what fundamental activities are necessary to grow their business and which are “wasting time”. They will assess where they spend their time, their decision-making process, and what activities drive revenue. Activities will include an examination of their focal point in their businesses and a deeper understanding of how they compete.
Week 3: Methods, Measures, and Mindset
In this session, students will take concepts discussed in the previous week and apply them in their business to develop ways to improve productivity, measure performance, and develop a CEO mindset. We will work on areas of the business where processes can be improved through hiring or automations then develop key performance indicators to match with the ways the business needs to grow.
Week 4: Money, Money, Money
In this session, students will understand the importance of how they make money in their business and where they can invest to grow their business. The focus during this module will be on understanding HOW the business makes money, having a clear understanding of financials, and determining the best way to invest in the growth of their company.
Week 5: Strategic Action & Accountability
In this session, students will bring everything together that they have learned over the last 4 weeks to build a strategic action plan for their businesses. We will cover the seven questions of strategic planning, understand how to become capital ready, and identify how the cohort to help keep each other accountable.
